Whats got me worried this time? well I could be worried about aerial spraying I.E. chemtrails in the Ukraine, but whats really scaring me is a birthday this week, even though in reality I'm only a day older in the bigger picture its like I'm entering another phase of life, not the last one but an important one.
If theres one thing to do I could reflect on my life so far but it was just a life so far, not that big of a deal, almost ordinary at times.
What I would like to post for discussion is list's. I know I'm gloom and doom , but I would like to post a positive action that we can all do, if you want. I've done this a few times through out the years and it really helps to give a focus to life. I learned this technic from a book called "How to get control of your time and your Life " by Alan Lakein copy-write 1973 even though the same idea is in most of the old school self- help books. It's a pretty good book it even teaches you how to make a good list. For here I'll just make a sort list of the major things for me , just a brief birthday list to see where I'd like to be headed, and the things I want to do in the near future say the next three years or one thousand and twenty seven days ?
That's really too big for here but I think you get the point . I'm just going to keep it to what I would like to do in the next year. The first step is to write down a list of all the things I would like to do. If your knew to it list all the things no matter how out there , if you want to walk on the moon put it on that list. Be thorough and think long term and short . Of course include what you want both the physical and mental. If your goal is a big screen in every room in your mansion on a hill is something you'd like put it down , Put down your idea of ideal employment and any you would like to have. And forget that I'll go with Oscar Wilde on that one and not have to look for work, and it wont look for me.
This list should go at least a couple of paper pages. From that you read your list and prioritize the things you have on it , use a 1 for the most important , on down the line . here's a sample or my short list. Staying Healthy , Getting On the Internet, biking a hundred mile and a 200 k. Then a Two day ride that includes one of the most dangerous but beautiful two lane in the state. Publishing, both the one book I wrote and writing another one at least. Become a better person every day and in every way. Getting a Kayak and find a way to get funding to film the River Confluence of where I live. Find love Music always my music , plus of course help save the world. Also I need some money .
This is my a list all of these are main goals , yet some are more important than others. and some are continuances of projects in the past. Health is probably the most important on the list
and involves a longer list of things you work on always to first off feel good and second not get sick. plus I'm probably going to shoot for being in the best health of my life because I'll need to be. Not to overstate the danger but at least one of the things on my list could kill me sort of. the two day bike ride , really the second day is my birthday challenge or present to myself. All of the things on this list are reachable except help saving a world that's not ready to be saved yet. and connected to a major theme or the super list of things to do. I've been working on them for years and if I dont make them I'll put them back on the list for next year.
A by the by is getting on the internet means putting a version of my public access show streaming across the web. I'll let you know when its time and feel free to call me on my list and see if I did any of it.
Ironically I am running out of time to write this , I would suggest reading the book mentioned above. Time is the most precious thing we have use it wisely. Even if the Mayan's were just kidding, things are crazy enough that you should start prioritizing how you spend whatever amount of it your alloted. If you have dreams and desires that you've had for a lifetime spend some time on your dreams do somethings on your list, work on your lifetime goals and keep an eye out for opportunities to have fun live your dreams, Everything in Moderation , nothing to excess. but young or old treat this year as if it matters , it might.
Yak Yak Yak but is anybody else laying out list's for not only today but the year , and the next little over a thousand days?
