2012- a reality check...

What will you do if disaster comes to you
can you say youll be able to face it
rebuilding the human race alone
with no food to eat no home of your own
can you say youll not miss the phone
you cant call up a friend
to find support or defend
youll have to restart humanity
whilst surviving against severe insanity
of those who survive will any of you thrive
would you want to remain alive
in conditions of such despair
your mind could be gone will you want to go on
Youll have no protection from the elements
or from hostile currents wild animals too
no shelter from others who may survive
theyll be hungry like you so theyll eat you alive
how could anyone thrive if barely able to stay alive
are you aware of what will be expected of you
the burden of living and no one is giving
the assistance and comforts youre not going to have
it will be a living nightmare
can you cope with the dreams the cries and screams
as you face the aftermath of death and destruction
the stench of rotting bodies filling your nostrils
its not just a game it will be very real
as you search and scratch for your next meal
can you imagine the sight as you sleep at night
guarding your morsels or scraps of food
from hungry others who`ll prey on you and your mind
youll be driven insane in the unfriendly terrain
is it going to be a picnic, I say not
God bless you who survive and keep you alive for what
hell on earth, nothing left to use,
no homes no shelters no food or drinking water
around death destruction despair stale stagnant air
death and dying our earth turned upside down
no means to show the way, no earth in which to play
you might just rue the day
that you are alive how to survive
what reason is there for you to be alive.
