WASHINGTON – The Environmental Protection Agency has concluded greenhouse gases are endangering people's health and must be regulated, signaling that the Obama administration is prepared to contain global warming without congressional action if necessary.
EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson scheduled a news conference for later Monday to announce the so-called endangerment finding, officials told The Associated Press, speaking privately because the announcement had not been made.
The finding is timed to boost the administration's arguments at an international climate conference — opening Monday — that the United States is aggressively taking actions to combat global warming, even though Congress has yet to act on climate legislation.
Without a bill, the U.S. was heading into Copenhagen hard-pressed to explain exactly how it would reach the targets President Barack Obama is set to offer.
Under a Supreme Court ruling, the so-called endangerment finding is needed before the EPA can regulate carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases released from automobiles, power plants, and factories under the federal Clean Air Act.

- I have been getting emails asking about 2012 and the scary predictions. So here is my take on the scare tactics that I see coming up more often now.
There will be a shift - a much needed shift in consciousness. This happens about every 5200 years or so and it's a good thing. The consciousness of the human race needs this change and we have hung on to our old outdated reality too long already. You will hear often about the value of "letting go" and this is a prime example of the value and important of that.
So some people picking up on "a change" could misunderstand it as a bad thing and the end of it all. But it's not a physical breaking down but a shift of the ages. If we keep an open mind and heart it will be a blessing. But if we insist on wanting everything to be as it always has been - this is where conflict comes in. Like resistance on a electrical wire, it creates a hot spot. Let go and enjoy the changes that are happening. You are among the few people in history to have the privilege to be here to experience this shift and you are here for a good reason.
A good book (I have on good authority) and some detail are below. I have to say that I have not had time to read yet.
‘The Twelve’ by William Gladstone is an inspiring novel centered around the 2012 predictions. He weaves prophecy into a global adventure novel about one man’s relentless pursuit of the answers to a great spiritual mystery. Eventually, after continuous page-turning suspense, the protagonist meets all of the twelve people who are the key to his destiny and that of the world.
Throughout this fast-paced novel, the reader is reminded of the higher connections that all people share if they will only be open to their intuitive guidance. When the hero finally arrives at the crossroads of his ultimate destiny, the biggest surprise of the book unfolds and the chase is finally won.
